PRE-BUSINESS ICUBATION TRAINING ACTIVITIES
Ideation, Business Conceptualization, Mindset Re-Orientation and Clarity of Purpose Training
- Ideation Process: This process involves a host of structured activities geared towards building capacity for the generation of innovative solutions to societal problems. It requires a practical show of entrepreneurship mindset and the application of core skills including problem solving, analytical, critical thinking, collaboration, research, creative, numeracy, and digital skills.
- Business Conceptualization, Mindset Re-Orientation, and Clarity of Purpose: This involves a host of capacity building activities geared towards providing clear understanding of what an innovative business idea intends to achieve and the resources required to establish the business successfully including the mission, vision, and value the business idea proposes.
- Enterprise Law: This involves providing understanding of enterprise formation and business law which encompasses forms of business ownership, business registration, innovative policy formulation, formation of alliances and joint ventures.
- Business Communication Skill Development: This course deals with the process of building verbal and non-verbal skills for effective communication in the business world. It encompasses presentation skills training, active listening, and unambiguous writing of promotional materials, meeting minutes, business letters, and proposals. (on conceptual understanding of the basic elements of a business plan, opportunity identification, managing challenges, and value creation)
- Principles of Marketing, Electronic-Marketing, and Electronic-Commerce: This training covers building understanding of the fundamental principles of marketing (4 Ps, 7 Ps, and the 8 Ps) as it affects customer management for increased confidence and loyalty; Innovations in marketing including e-marketing and e-commerce; Product and associated risks management; and global visibility of impactful business initiatives.
- Business Planning, Linkage, Networking and Global Awareness: This involves building capacity geared towards the development of an innovative business roadmap (showcasing the business value proposition, market analysis, financial projections, and organization structure) for growth and liquidity. It also involves building capacity to access funding partners, mentors, collaborators (to form strategic alliances) and potential market segments globally.
- Numeracy, Entrepreneurial Finance and Accounting Skills Development: This capacity training covers the fundamental principles of managing human, material, and financial resources in their numbers and accounting for their proper use and deployment. Components of this activity include business mathematics, basic statistical analysis, material resource management, time management, human resource management, entrepreneurial finance (venture capital, equity finance, micro finance, personal savings, SME investment organizations
BUSINESS ICUBATION TRAINING ACTIVITIES
- Domain-based business opportunity Identification skills set development practice: This involves a practical approach towards developing capacity to identify gaps in the market for a new business idea by using appropriate needs analysis tools/strategies.
- Problem definition and clear purpose drafting capacity development: This involves a practical approach to defining specific problems associated with identified gaps and stating the purpose in and unambiguous manner.
- Small business/family business management: This involves practical activities meant to enhance prospective entrepreneurs’ capacity to transition into SMEs with strong leadership, basic book keeping, and business growth modeling skills.
- Domain-Based business development: This activity gives prospective entrepreneurs the opportunity to build their practical skills in business planning using canvas and market research.
- Negotiation skill development: This involves practical activities meant to enhance prospective
- Tech-based innovations and entrepreneurship: This training involves the practical integration of emerging technology into SME development especially as it affects automation of operations, monitoring and evaluation.
POST-BUSINESS ICUBATION TRAINING ACTIVITIES
- Business Development Support/Mentorship: Practical activities under this training are meant to enhance prospective entrepreneurs’ capacity to establish and run their businesses successfully. Activities under this training include, BDSP mentorship on market research, customer acquisition, customer retention, business operations optimization, and expansion.
- Formation of focused business forum and clubs.
- Community Development and inter-cultural communication. Prospective entrepreneurs are provided with the opportunity to engage in community-based business research and development.
